Blossom in the graveyard

Dulwich Old Cemetery: “Buried here in unmarked graves are 35 victims of the plague, who died in 1665. Also, Old Bridget, Queen of the Norwood Gypsies, who died in 1768; Samuel Matthews, the hermit murdered in his cave in Dulwich Wood in 1802…”

Very old graves, while solemn, don't seem very sad. Perhaps because everyone they knew would be dead, too, and at least those with extant grave sites are remembered.

Oh how fantastic. The idea of a cave anywhere in that area now, with or without a resident hermit makes me smile.

Shame you couldn't add Little Cat to the rosta of unmarked resters.

It crossed my mind, but the cemetery has no public access and very solid, high railings. So she lies in the woods where the hermit lived.
